I was born into painting.
My maternal grandfather, Jean Bouchaud, was a travelling painter and member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Inspired by his paintings, I was captivated from an early age by this blend of travel and artistic creation.
When I was 18, flying over the Moroccan villages with their mud houses near Mar- rakech made a deep impression on me. The image of these drawings on the ground inspired me to study cartography, while unconsciously directing my vision towards an aerial perspective.
After obtaining a master’s degree in geography and a diploma in thematic cartography, I followed my path towards editing, rigging and documentary filmmaking, all the while exploring the arts in all their forms: photography, drawing, 2D, 3D, engraving, painting, animation, editing, cartography...
It was Véronique Masurel’s classes at the Atelier des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris, as well as in situ courses at the Louvre, that introduced me to painting in the 90s and reconnected me with my family roots.
The Louvre nourishes and inspires me, stimulating my creativity and imagination. In- fluenced by artists such as Sonia Delaunay and Paul Klee, I’ve found my own style.
My first exhibition took place in Paris in 2008. My work can be found in collections in France, the USA, England, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada and China.
Today, I live and work in Paris, and enjoy exploring and traveling through residencies; at the Villa Palmerino in Florence, Italy, from 2020 to 2022, then at the Maison Rose de Wallerand in Auvers sur Oise, the former summer studio of Charles François d’Aubigny, where I return this summer for two months.
