Biography
I was born into painting.
My maternal grandfather, Jean Bouchaud, was a traveling painter and academician, a member of the Institut des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Inspired by his paintings, I was captivated from an early age by this fascinating combination of travel and artistic creation.
At the age of 18, a flight over Moroccan villages with their earthen houses left a deep impression on me. The image of these drawings on the ground sparked in me a desire to study cartography, while unconsciously directing my vision towards an aerial perspective.
After obtaining a master’s degree in geography and a diploma in thematic cartography, I explored art through various mediums, including photography, drawing, 2D, 3D, engraving, and painting, and enrolled in the Atelier d’Images et Informatique at ENSAD, combining cartography and art. I then turned my attention to video, editing, and documentary filmmaking.
Trained by Véronique Masurel at the Atelier des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris and at the Louvre, I took up painting in the 1990s, reconnecting with my family roots.
Today, I devote myself to the visual arts. I regularly visit the Louvre to look at and copy the masterpieces. Sonia Delaunay and Paul Klee also strongly influence my work.
My works are part of collections in France, the US, England, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Canada, and China.
I live and work in Paris, and enjoy exploring and traveling through residencies; at the Villa Palmerino in Florence, Italy, from 2020 to 2022, then in the summer at the Maison Rose de Wallerand in Auvers sur Oise, Daubigny’s former summer studio, from 2022 to 2025.
